First off, to those who have served this great Country – thank you. Without you, the freedom we enjoy could not be preserved. You have stood in the face of ultimate peril willing to sacrifice all, knowing many who did, so that the world at large might be a safer and freer place. Again, thank you.
Our Stated Meeting will be tomorrow evening. We have much to discuss. Grand Lodge is right around the corner and as per usual there are certain things on the docket that will have a direct influence on Blue Lodge operations. We need to vet these subjects and determine our course of voting action. We will also need to elect a proxy should we have to have a backup.
If you plan on attending Grand Lodge make sure you preregister http://grandlodgeoftexas.org/pdf/2013/2013%20Pre-registration%20form.pdf
My reading this week took me back across the wonderful works of Thomas Carlyle, and in particular, his poignant statements “grand business undoubtedly is, not to see what lies dimly at a distance, but to do what lies clearly at hand.” and “The weakest living creature, by concentrating his powers on a single object, can accomplish something. The strongest, by dispensing his over many, may fail to accomplish anything. The drop, by continually falling, bores its passage through the hardest rock. The hasty torrent rushes over it with hideous uproar, and leaves no trace behind.”
Look forward to seeing you tomorrow night. We will open an EA Lodge. Officers – coat and tie.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
