Stated Meeting This Week – DDGM’s Official Visit

Brethren,

Tuesday is Stated Meeting which will also be our official visit from R:.W:. Haven. It’s important that we have a good turn out for our District Deputy.

There will be a number of things on the agenda, including but not limited to, Garland 441 partnering with the Garland Fire Department in a City-wide paper goods drive for the Hope Clinic. We have taken Brother Senior Deacon up on his challenge and gotten off the proverbial pot. This is going to take the combined efforts of the Brethren – from phone teams to groups of people willing to collect the goods at the fire houses and drop them off with the clinic – this is going to be a six week, all hands on deck style operation starting in mid-September. Come Tuesday for more details.

We will also be announcing more details in regard to our September 3rd visit from Congressman Pete Sessions.

We will also be announcing more details about our Oct 23rd visit from Bro. Brent Morris – if you have ever seen a single History Channel, freemasonry/conspiracy theory show – you’ve seen and heard Bro. Brent – he is the chief advocate for Freemasonry on all those programs.

We will also be rounding up our volunteers for the September 14th blood drive at 441 – we’re going to need Brothers to work the phones in the days leading up to the drive, and Brothers on the floor the day of the drive. Garland Masons are the standard bearers when it comes to the Gift of Life Blood Drives across the State – no one compares to what we do, and it’s time we set the bar even higher.

We are also going to be discussing the Oct 5th tour of The Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children – this will be open to everyone – If you’ve ever had a problem pinpointing the significance of Masonry to a friend or family member then this is an opportunity to show them first hand how Masons created the Number 1 orthopedic hospital in the Country.

There’s lots to do this year, and your help is greatly needed and appreciated. I look forward to seeing you all there!!

Eric Stuyvesant
Worshipful Master, Garland #441
